unfold thy immaculate sails
beneath the twinkling stars
and the wordless oceans.

Bear my soul to things
animate and inanimate.
Bear the postal stamp of my flesh
to the Dark Continent.

Let not my laments return
with the forebodings of death in its beak.
Let the raging salinity
devour my lusts
and subside in you.
